Corbin Soybean Variety Description
Corbin is the first Glyphosate-Tolerant variety developed by Virginia Tech. It has purple flowers, tawny pubescence and tan pod wall. It has determinate growth habit and has slightly small seed with yellow seed coat and gray hila. It showed resistance to SCN race 3 with a rating of 1 in 2016. It is susceptible to root knot nematode and sudden death syndrome. It showed resistance to stem canker in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Corbin is well-adapted in Virginia. It has high protein content and significantly high oil content. The Virginia Crop Improvement Association is currently overseeing the increase at the Foundation Seed Farm in Mount Holly, Virginia and will provide foundation seed.
