Phoenix 29 wheat is a widely adapted, full season, medium height, hard red winter wheat that has high yield potential. At the boot stage plants are green in color and have flag leaves that are erect, twisted, and waxy. Stems are hollow, waxy, lack anthocyanin, and have four internodes, semi-erect peduncles. Anthers are yellow in color. Straw is yellow in color. The creamy, white pubescent glumes are medium in length and width with narrow acuminate beaks and oblique shoulders of narrow width. The seed phenol reaction color is dark brown. Average plant height is 34 inches. It is resistant to powdery mildew, leaf rust, and Barley Yellow /dwarf Virus. It is resistant to stem rust and moderately resistant to glume blotch and leaf blotch.
