MPV 57 Wheat Variety Description

U. S. Protected Variety

Can be sold only as a class of Certified seed

 MPV 57 is a full-season, high yielding, medium stature, awnletted, soft red winter wheat having exceptional performance under no-till grain production regimes and also well suited for forage production.  Straw strength of MPV 57 is good.  It is resistant to powdery mildew and wheat spindle streak mosaic virus, and moderately resistant to barley yellow dwarf virus.  It is moderately resistant to moderately susceptible to glume blotch and leaf rust.  MPV 57 is moderately susceptible to fusarium head blight and is susceptible to Hessian fly.
